Train My Brain
Sometimes when I complain, my dad says “no pain, no gain.”
Well, today is painful. I am trying to train my brain.
What do I mean? Let me explain.
I have a test on Friday, and I need to learn all the state capitals by then.
Since there are fifty states, that means there are fifty capitals to learn. That is a lot!
I am afraid of failing, so I ask my dad to quiz me. We may have to work after school all week. But if we keep it up, I have faith that I will obtain a good grade.
-------------------------------
Explain It
Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:
What is today's story about?
The author has a test on Friday. What is the test about?
