The Daily(ish) Decodable program uses a standard format to work through one sound per day. There are simple instructions for you, the parent or caregiver, and any words in big bold letters are meant for your child to read out loud.
Today we're reviewing words the "ou" sound in words like “out" and "cloud."
You can review all of the prior lessons here.

Parents, read the following words out loud. Then ask your child which one does NOT rhyme with the others?

Read It
Have your child read the passage below out loud:
Little Bo Peep
Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep,
And she can not find them.
Will they come home,
Wagging their tails behind them?
She looks by the creek. She looks in the wood.
She calls out loud, as loud as she could.
She hears no sound. She sees no track.
Her woolly sheep have not come back.
She peeks in a cave. She mounts a tree.
She trips on a rock and scrapes her knee.
She sits on a stump and starts to cry.
A little gray cloud rolls in the sky.
Then Bo Peep hears a soft, "baa, baa!"
It comes from behind a stack of straw.
She walks that way, and what does she see?
Her sheep playing games and sipping some tea!
Now the fun has begun. They hop and run.
They sing and dance under the falling sun.
Then off they go, back home in the clear,
Each one safe and full of cheer!

Explain It
Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:
In your own words, what happened in today's story?
What were the sheep doing?
