The Daily(ish) Decodable program uses a standard format to work through one sound per day. There are simple instructions for you, the parent or caregiver, and any words in big bold letters are meant for your child to read out loud.
Today we're reviewing Magic E exceptions like “give” and “live" that do NOT follow the normal rule.
You can review all of the prior lessons here.
Rhyme It
Parents, read the following words out loud. Then ask your child which one does NOT rhyme with the others?

Have your child read the passage below out loud:
Give Something Away Day
Today is Give Something Away Day. Do you have any extra stuff? Is there anything you could live without?
It can be hard to give things away. I know that I am attached to my stuff.
But it can also feel nice to give things away.
You don't have to make it into a big thing. You could be giving something to someone who needs it.
If you do not have any thing to give away, you could still give away your time. Could you volunteer to pick up after dinner, or take a pet for a walk?
-------------------------------
Explain It
Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:
What was today's story about?
Have you given anything away recently? How did it feel?
