Go to the Store

Before I watch more TV, Mom told me to do a chore for her. She needs me to go to the store.

She gives me a list of things to get. The list says:

  • Cow milk (one gallon)

  • Corn (three cans)

  • One jar of grape jelly

  • One carton of eggs

  • Nine limes

  • Turkey slices (one tray)

  • One cake mix

  • Plastic forks (for my brother's birthday party)

I know the store well. It was not a hard chore. And when I return with the stuff, she thanks me and gives me a big hug.

-------------------------------

Explain It

Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:

  1. Can you remember 3 things the author has to buy?

  2. In the story, someone is having a birthday party soon. Do you remember who?
