Read It Have your child read the passage below:
Ice Is Nice
When water gets super cold, it can turn into ice. In fact, when water gets below 32 degrees, it freezes into ice.
Ice can be nice in the summer. On a hot day, after a run or a bike ride, I like to drink a glass of ice water.
Ice can also be nice in the winter. When the pond turns to ice, it’s time to put on skates or play hockey.
Take your pick: Ice can be nice any time! ------------------------------- Explain It
Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:
When does water turn into ice?
If an ice cube melts, what does it turn into?
