Read It

In honor of National Pizza Day, have your child read the passage below:

Pizza Day!

“It's pizza day!” I exclaim to my buddy Moira.

“I know!” she responds. “Do you want to come with me to get some?”

“Whoa, that would be a real treat!” I say.

“What do you like to eat on your pizza?” she asks.

“Well, sometimes I like it plain. Or sometimes I like to eat it with pepperoni. And you? Is there something you would like to try? Mushrooms? Garlic? Eggplant?”

Moira thinks for a moment. Then she grins and says, “You know, any day I get to eat pizza is a good day for me.”

And I agree!

-------------------------------

Explain It

Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:

  1. What day is it today?

  2. Do you agree with Moira when she says, "any day you get to eat pizza is a good day?"
