Chutes and Ladders

Have you ever played the game Chutes and Ladders?

How many times have you played it? One? Five? Or none?

If you have not tried it yet, it is a cute game.

Let me explain how to play. The box includes a wheel you can spin to see who gets to go first.

When it's your turn, you spin the wheel and advance that many spaces. If you land on a space with a ladder, you get to skip ahead.

But if you land on a spot with a chute, down you go.

It may be silly, but it can be fun to play at night.

-------------------------------

Explain It

Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:

  1. What was today's story about?

  2. If you were playing the game, would you rather land on a chute or a ladder?
