Swing for the Fences!
“Swing for the fences” is a saying from baseball.
In baseball, if a batter hits the ball over the fence, that is a home run. The batter, plus anyone who was already on base, gets to score. It's hard to hit a home run, and sometimes the batter will swing and miss.
But now we use this saying for more than just baseball. “Swing for the fences” means to try something that might be hard or difficult or challenging.
Life can be more fun when you try to swing for the fences.
