The New Kid

When I went into class this morning, there was a new kid sitting in my chair. He was reading a comic book.

I almost flew into a rage. But I knew I should try to be nice.

So instead, I said, “Hi. My name is Aimee. You must be new here.”

“Hi Aimee, I am Jonathan. Sorry, am I in your seat?

“Yes, but that's okay. What are you reading?” I said.

“It is the newest book about the turtle crew. Would you like to read it after me?”

Oh yes I would! It turns out this new kid is pretty cool.

-------------------------------

Explain It

Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:

  1. What happened in the story?

  2. What was the problem at the start of the story?
