It has to be cold. It has to be wet. It has to be fresh.

I go to the sink.

I fetch a big cup from the cabinet.

I clutch it in my hand.

Drip, drop, splash.

I watch the water fill my cup.

I fill it up to the brim.

I bring it to my lips and begin to drink.

Ahh! It’s cold. It's wet. It's good. It's refreshing. ------------------------------- Explain It

Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:

  1. What does the author need?

  2. Where did the author get the cup?
