The Cliff

My mom asks if I want to go on a long walk.

I say yes.

My job is to pack the snacks. I put bananas, nuts, and sandwiches into a paper bag. She fills up a jug of water and clips it to a backpack.

We go to the bottom of the hill and begin to walk.

We cross a bridge over a creek. Next we go over a small ridge.

We walk at a good fast clip.

It is a lot of walking…

But then we get to the edge of the cliff. I look over at my mom and grin. I am glad I went along on this walk. ------------------------------- Explain It

Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:

  1. What food do they take along on the walk?

  2. Was it a long walk? Was it worth it?
