The Daily(ish) Decodable program uses a standard format to work through one sound per day. There are simple instructions for you, the parent or caregiver, and any words in big bold letters are meant for your child to read out loud.
Today we're going to review the “-ed” sound at the end of words like "padded" and "started."
Start here if your child needs a primer on this sound. You can review all of the prior lessons here.

Have your child read the passage below out loud:
Nintendo
I have a hunch you know about Nintendo today, but do you know how it started?
Nintendo was founded on this day in the year 1889, in the nation of Japan.
It started by selling playing cards. And it did okay for a while just selling those cards.
But then it started making electronic toy games. Those were big hits, and the company got bigger and bigger.
Over time, it made things like the Game Boy and the Nintendo Switch.
You may remember some of their best games, such as Mario, Animal Crossing, Donkey Kong, Pokemon, or Super Smash Bros.
-------------------------------
Explain It
Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:
How did Nintendo start out?
What Nintendo games does the story mention? If you can, what would you add to the list?
