The Daily(ish) Decodable program uses a standard format to work through one sound per day. There are simple instructions for you, the parent or caregiver, and any words in big bold letters are meant for your child to read out loud.
We've already introduced the Magic E with the “long O” sound. Today we're going to keep working on words like “vote.”
You can review all of the prior lessons here.

Get Out and Vote!
In the USA, we live in the land of the free. Our votes count.
Here in America, we vote for president every four years. 2024 is an election year.
Maybe you have seen ads on TV or listened to your mom and dad talking about it.
Everyone over the age of 18 can vote in the election.
First they have to register to vote.
Then they have to show up on election day.
Then they get to cast their vote.
After the votes are added up, the person (the candidate) with more votes wins!
-------------------------------
Explain It
Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:
How often do we vote for president in the USA?
In the USA, how old do you have to be to vote?
