The Daily(ish) Decodable program uses a standard format to work through one sound per day. There are simple instructions for you, the parent or caregiver, and any words in big bold letters are meant for your child to read out loud.
If you want to review any prior lessons, those are all freely available here.
Today we're going to work on Magic E words like "side" and "ride."
If your child needs an introduction to this sound, start here.
Rhyme It
Parents, read the following words out loud. Then ask your child which one does NOT rhyme with the others?
hide seek inside ------------------------------- Say It Have your child point to and say the word "ride" (faster each time): r ide

Read It
Have your child read the passage below out loud:
Ride the Wind Day
Today is August twenty-third. But it also “Ride the Wind Day.”
“Ride the wind” can also mean to go with the flow.
Think of a sailboat. The wind makes the sail flap left and right, and the boat just rides the waves.
When a car drives fast, sometimes I like to open the window, stick my hand out, and feel my hand go up or down with the wind.
Have you ever done that? If your mom or dad lets you, give it a try! You can say you are “sailing the wind.”
-------------------------------
Explain It
Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:
What does "ride the wind" mean?
Without looking back, can you spell the word "ride?"
