We've already worked on words like “age” and “stage” that follow the normal Magic E rule.
Today we're going to work on exceptions like “image” and “package.”

Have your child read the passage below.
I Will Have to Manage
I went to get pie at the bake store.
I had an image in my head of a nice slice of apple pie. With ice cream on top. That sounded nice to me.
But when the waiter came with my pie, it looked… not how I wanted.
So I asked for a beverage instead. A milkshake with whipped cream on top.
And that milkshake was creamy goodness. I left feeling happy, full, and satisfied.
