Daily(ish) Decodable: Words like "image" and "package"

We've already worked on words like “age” and “stage” that follow the normal Magic E rule. 

 

Today we're going to work on exceptions like “image” and “package.”

Rhyme It Parents, read the following words out loud. Then ask your child which one does NOT rhyme with the others?

Have your child read the passage below.


I Will Have to Manage

 

I went to get pie at the bake store.

 

I had an image in my head of a nice slice of apple pie. With ice cream on top. That sounded nice to me. 

 

But when the waiter came with my pie, it looked… not how I wanted.

 

So I asked for a beverage instead. A milkshake with whipped cream on top.

 

And that milkshake was creamy goodness. I left feeling happy, full, and satisfied.
