Daily(ish) Decodable: Words like "horse"

Today we're going to work on words like “horse" and “purse.”

Rhyme It Parents, read the following words out loud. Then ask your child which one does NOT rhyme with the others?

Read It

Have your child read the passage below.


Hay

 

Without getting some hay to eat, the horse will not run.

 

Without his horse, the rider can not join the battle.

 

Without that rider, the battle will be lost.

 

Without winning that battle, the kingdom would be lost.

 

In other words, the kingdom will be lost without getting some hay for that horse.
