Skunk Facts

I hope you never have to deal with a skunk. Don’t ask me why, but I know too much about them. Here are five skunk facts:

Fact One: Skunks are about the size of a little dog or cat.

Fact Two: Skunks have bushy tails.

Fact Three: Most skunks have black fur with white stripes down the middle.

Fact Four: Skunks have excellent senses of smell and hearing, but they can’t see very well.

Fact Five: When skunks are under attack, they make a smelly spray that is hard to get off.

Stay away from skunks!

Explain It

  1. Using details in the story, can you describe what a skunk looks like?

  2. What are skunks good at?
