The Daily(ish) Decodable program uses a standard format to work through one sound per day. There are simple instructions for you, the parent or caregiver, and any words in big bold letters are meant for your child to read out loud.
Today we're going to review the "-ck" sound in "duck."
You can review all of the prior lessons here.

Donald Duck
Happy birthday to Donald Duck!
Donald made his first appearance on this day in 1934. Since then, he has been in lots of shows and films.
Donald is a white duck with yellow beak, legs, and feet. He normally dresses like a sailor with a cap.
Many Donald Duck films start with him in a happy mood, without a care in the world… until something unlucky happens that makes him mad.
Although he gets angry easily and has a hot temper, he is a lovable duck.
Here's a fun fact: Did you know that Donald Duck has been in more films than any other Disney actor, actress, or animal?
-------------------------------
Explain It
Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:
What did you learn about Donald Duck?
Who has been in more movies: Mickey Mouse or Donal Duck?
